Chicone History

Salvatore Chicone, 1947

Owned and operated by David Chicone, Chicone Builders has been serving the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier NY as general contractors and finish carpenters for over 50 years. Today, three generations of fine woodworkers continue to nurture this family run business.

Returning home from World War II, Salvatore and his brother worked together as carpenters. In 1953, they officially started the business, which today includes the talents and skills of three generations.

Upon the retirement in 1971 of Salvatore's brother, David entered into partnership with his father. Together they operated Chicone Builders for another 15 years before Salvatore retired.

In 2003, Chicone Builders embarked on a new journey with the opening of Chicone Cabinetmakers, when son (Grandson), Vincent Chicone, came back home to join the business. This project blended years of contracting experience with a love of and devotion to fine woodworking. Our in-house design team works one-on-one with our clients to ensure every product meets their needs.

Chicone Builders and Chicone Cabinetmakers operate out of Montour Falls, NY. Salvatore at 88 years young still comes to the office every day. His retirement, on paper only, allows a vintage seasoned perspective that adds a respected dimension to our work.
